Two Americans debating about the future of their country
- and the public keeps listening!
I suppose that all of you have seen it in the news, read it or at least have heard something about the
"presidential debates", which were broadcast on October 3rd and 16th.
As the next election will be held on November 6th, the two competitors, who are Mitt Romney and Barack Obama (running for the second time), struggle to convince the public of their plans, ideas, hopes and let's say: "lies".
Review of the second debate:
In his second appearance Obama presented himself calmer and more aggressiv compared to his first time, where he clearly failed against his republican competitor Mitt Romney. Both interrupted each other very often and Candy Crowley, who was the hostess, had to clear things up, especially in the end. Romney claimed that Barack Obama hadn't informed the public immediately after the Libyan incident, where four Americans got killed. Romney was corrected, Obama did hold a speech where he said that these men probably were victims of a terrorist attack.
From that point on Romney became insecure and Obama took advantage of it. Obama reminded his competitor at the time where he blamed the "victims" of the society relying too much on the state. Both didn't reveal much details of their plans, they simply wanted to humiliate each other.
To sum up, even though Romney started with a solid performance, Obama used Romney's errors and showed us his strategic way of promoting himself. Obviously he got the people's majority now.
